During youth group this week we sang a song that we often sing at my church called “All the Poor and Powerless” by Sons & Daughters. It’s one of my favorites and probably one I’ve heard hundreds of times.
However, this time, I heard it completely different. As most of you know, I’ve been job (career) searching since graduation last summer. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be picky — thanks to my husbands support and patience. I wanted to make sure this new chapter in my life and this position would be one that I would not only enjoy but one that challenges me to be better professionally, spiritually and personally.
Over the last month I’ve been interviewing with a United Methodist church for their communications position. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. The drive is a little bit further than I prefer but it’s completely doable. The hours are perfect for a mother of a busy household and it’s a Methodist church, so duh! It’s pretty close to perfect.
Well, today I got the call.
I got the job!!!
I start next week and I am so excited to be able to help our church grow in community and to be a part of spreading Gods word in the kingdom.
So as I was listening to the song this time. The words came to me different than ever before:
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God
“Go on and tell it to the masses” is exactly what I get to do!
It’s crazy how a plan (His plan) comes together. I hope I can do it justice.
